What Customers Say About Chronicle, Vol. 1: The 20 Greatest Hits:

Still they won't get any worse now.Still really enjoy having these on a single CD, will be getting the second volume soon.Clint. Got it done, but the sound quality is less than I like. I'm giving a full five simply because it is great to have this many of Creedence's songs in a single CD, and now I can convert them to MP3 format for personal carry use. All my old LPs had gotten so "used" over the years since I started buying CCR in the sixties they really were difficult to transfer to CDs even with Soundsoap "hiss/pop" removal programs.

Great CD. I really enjoyed hearing so many of the CCR hits I grew up with.

The original tunes tell tales of riverboats in the South, Tin Pan Alley, washboards and hand clapping tales, as well as serious political commentary, like "Fortunate Son". "Down On the Corner" is story about four guys on the corner singing harmonies for the sheer love of it.

"Up Around the Bend" begins with a searing guitar riff that flies into a powerful song. "Bad Moon Rising", an ominous tale of forboding has a chugging guitar that supplies rhythmic fill.

This is a single disk that accurately captures one of the great American groups of the time. "Looking Out My Back Door" is a humerous tale fueled by imagination.

There is a second disk that is a good companion greatest hits, and a great box set that is more comprehensive, but this one of the best and most affordable "Greatest Hits" collections you can get. Creedence Clearwater Revival was born in California, but managed to grab a taste of Southern culture through the songwriting and playing of front man, John Fogerty.

The hits are amazing, from the earliest cover of Dale Hawkins' "Suzie Q", through the Screaming Jay Hawkins song, "I Put a Spell On You", where Fogerty wails like a man possessed.

There's a lot of fine music here to enjoy and listen to over and over again. As with most bands, what a fan considers a great song and deserving of being included on a greatest hits release is subjective. That being said, this release won't disappoint a Creedence Clearwater Revival fan.

No wonder there's still residual money to be made and fought over with these ones.classic CCR remastered and sounding better now then when originally released. gave this CD 5 stars because after being indoctrinated on this stuff -- sometimes you just need a nostalgic buzz.
